Stone Crusher Plants See Wide Use In the Construction Industry

The use is made of natural rocks and stone for many purposes, like making concrete, as bed layers in roads, for compact filling of open areas and others. Each of these require stone to be crushed in various sizes depending on the requirements. This is acheived by crushing the stone in a stone crusher plant.

What is Crushing?

Crushing is a process where material of a bigger size can be reduced so that they can be used further for any needed purposes. It is a process that is use in many industries, but what we are concerned with here is its use for crushing stone(trituración de piedra) used in construction. In earlier days this was often done by hand and involved brute force and hard labor to breakdown stone with hammers. This system is even now followed in many underdeveloped countries where the use of labor is cheaper than using machinery and plant.

The process of crushing used in a stone crusher plant involves two hard solid surface, generally made of steel and iron, coming together with great force and fracturing the stone that comes in between them. The process is controlled, so that the final crushed stone is of the desired size.

Types of Crushers

A jaw crusher has one fixed jaw and the other a movable one. The stone to be crushed is fed in between these two jaws and the force exerted by the movable jaw against the fixed one crushes the stone, with the crushed stone exiting from the bottom of the jaws. Distances between the two jaws can be adjusted to give you crushed material of the required size, by adjusting the bottom frame. This is the most widely used type of crusher. There are variations within this, depending on them manufacturer and the type of product required.

Gyratory crushers or cone crushers squeezes the stone between a fixed and moving plate of steel to crush it. Roller crushers feed the stone between two rollers separated from each other on parallel axes and working in opposite directions. The distance of separation decides the size of the crushed aggregate that results. Impact crushers do the crushing operation by compression of two surfaces against each other.

Anatomy of a Stone Crusher Plant

Most stone crushers have a feeding bin that then conveys the stone that is brought in as raw material from quarries where they have been broken down into large chunks by blasting, jack hammers or other action. This can also be pebbles gathered from places where they have accumulated. The bin then feeds a conveyor belt that conveys this raw material into the crusher. The crushed material is then dropped again on to conveyor belts to carry the crushed stone to a vibrating screen plant that separates the aggregates into various sizes(varios tamaños). The screens of large length will have meshes of different sizes along the length, allowing for the separation of each size. Each size has separate dumps or bins of the appropriate size. Each sizeof stone is then loaded on to the trucks of customers wanting to use this material.

The type of stone crusher plant and vibrating screens used can depend on the required output, and sizes needed. It is often dictated by the quality of the raw material that is available in a particular area. Plants can be stationary, mobile, or even portable.
